I still remember those warm summer afternoons when my grandfather would curl up on top of my grandmother, his snores a soothing melody that filled the room. It was as if he had found the most comfortable pillow in the world – her gentle curves and soft skin.

My siblings and I would giggle behind our hands, trying not to wake them up from their cozy nap. We'd whisper stories about how grandpa loved grandma more than ice cream or baseball combined, but deep down we knew it wasn't just a joke. The way they held each other spoke volumes of their love story.

As I grew older, I realized that this peculiar habit was more than just a quirk; it was an expression of their affection for one another. They were two peas in a pod who enjoyed each other's company so much that they couldn't bear to be apart for even a few minutes.

One sunny afternoon when I was ten years old, I decided to ask them why grandpa always slept on top of grandma instead of beside her or even under his own blanket. Grandma smiled knowingly while grandpa chuckled softly before giving me an answer:

"You see, dearie," he began with his eyes twinkling like stars on a clear night sky, "your mother is not only my partner in life but also my favorite place to rest."

"Rest?" My curiosity piqued as I looked at him curiously.

"Well," he continued with a grin spreading across his face like sunlight breaking through clouds after rain, "resting doesn't have to mean sleeping alone does it? Sometimes you can find your greatest comfort by being close to someone you love."

He paused for effect before finishing with an innocent look on his face:

"After all," he said matter-of-factly as if sharing some profound wisdom from ancient times,

"Love knows no bounds nor distance."
